Victor
Vu
Writer/Producer/Director
Victor Vu was an embryo in his mother’s womb when
his family left Vietnam in 1975, just days before the
fall of Saigon. In 1997, he received his Bachelor of Arts
Degree from Loyola Marymount University, where he studied
film production. For his Thesis Project, Vu wrote, produced
and directed FIRECRACKER, a short film about domestic
abuse within a Vietnamese-American family as told through
the eyes of a seven year-old boy. The film won awards
at national and international film festivals, including
the Student Showcase Award (Hamptons Int’l Film
Festival) and Best Short Film (Newport Beach Int’l
Film Festival). Vu’s feature film SPIRITS “OAN
HON”, a Vietnamese ghost story, was screened at
numerous film festivals including Fantasia Montreal, Hawaii
International Film Festival and currently in competition
at the 2005 Bangkok International Film Festival and the
Singapore International Film Festival. |
