Business, Communications and Public Relations Professionals Gather in Houston for the 2nd Annual Vietnamese American Media Expo
Westminster, CA -- April 2, 2007 -- Hundreds of media and business-savvy participants along with 25 expert moderators and panelists from across the nation are expected to convene at the 2nd Annual Vietnamese American Media Expo to tackle topics such as captivating the audience, increasing the bottom line, facing challenges of the next generation and maximizing the benefits of partnerships.
In 2006, the VAM Expo attracted nearly 200 attendees with representatives from 75 different media, business and community organizations. Following a passionate keynote speech by Duc Nguyen of Pacific Time’s KQED, a series of insightful discussions took place led by seasoned moderators and panelists. At the conclusion of the event, awards were given in the categories of presentation, content, and community involvement.
This year’s event will be held on May 18, 2007 at the HCCS Conference & Training Center in Houston in collaboration with the Vietnamese American National Gala. The expo incorporates professionals from multiple disciplines such as business, advertising, journalism, communications, public relations and the non-profit sector like the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). The program will be presented and moderated by Minh Thi of TNT Radio, Anh Do of Nguoi Viet Daily News, Andrea Nguyen of Houston CW 39 News, Nina Hoa Binh Le of Viet Bao Daily News and Priscilla Goodwin of Fox 26 News. The keynote speaker is Anhlan Nguyen, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Vietnamese Culture & Science Association.
VAM Expo is the first national forum of its caliber to discuss issues affecting the growth and vitality of journalism, communications, and public relations in the Vietnamese community. It offers media groups and businesses an opportunity to showcase their work, while fostering interaction with the general public. It hopes to forge a diverse but cohesive partnership to promote the future of Vietnamese American media.
