Cleveland Baker, Marketing Coordinator US Small Business Association

Cleveland Baker is an innovative leader with expertise in business and financial management. He has 17 years of experience in executive roles with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Among his duties, he directs and monitors 8(a) programs for over 140 Minority Disadvantaged Businesses in 32 counties, representing more than $35 million in annual gross sales. He also manages all aspects of "Management and Technical Assistance Program, Section 7(j)" providing education for minority businesses representing $3 to $4 million. He initiated the "Community Express Loan" program extending $1,000 to $15,000 SBA loans to small businesses. He has helped awarded $2.9 billion in contracts and modifications in 17 years. He's interested in increasing the dollar value and number of government contracts awarded to small businesses.
Cleveland specializes in all aspects of contracting, procurement and marketing and administration. He has served as acting assistant director for Minority Small Business and Capital Ownership Division. He's also worked as a marketing and outreach specialist, warranted contracting officer and HubZone Liaison Officer.
Cleveland is a 23-year veteran of the United States Air Force whose awards include the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster and Achievement Medal. |
